Just minutes from Anaheim in Yorba Linda is the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum, one of the 15 presidential libraries administered by the Presidential Libraries in College Park’s National Archives and Record Administration’s Office. Nixon’s Presidency is one of American history’s most exhaustively documented administrations. The Richard Nixon Presidential Materials Collection includes around 46 million pages of documents, 4,000 separate broadcast video recordings, 3,700 hours of the “White House Tapes” (recorded Presidential conversations), 300,000 still photographs, nearly 4,500 audio recordings, and over 35,000 State and Public Gifts.
The Richard Nixon Presidential Library Museum’s primary mission is to educate and inform. This museum offers a narrative of Nixon’s life and career. Behind the museum is Nixon’s birthplace, which was constructed by his father using a home-building kit, and a few feet away, First Lady Pat Nixon and President Nixon’s bodies are buried. The Nixon Library site also displays the President’s VH-3A “Sea King” helicopter onsite. And it also contains the Annenberg Court, which includes an exact replica of the East Room of the White House used as an event place and a particular exhibit room.
