Spend the Day at Temecula Wineries

November 21st, 2015

Does a flight of vino strike your fancy? You’re in luck, because Anaheim is just a short drive from the sprawling Temecula Wineries region. Start your tour at Lorimar Vineyards and Winery, which began with two friends who had a dream of crafting great wines at an affordable price. Designed in Tuscon style, the Old Town Tasting Room is the perfect place for small bites, generous pours, and enjoying antique exhibits.

At Lumiere Winery, you can take advantage of tasting seven days per week in a small, intimate tasting room. Maurice Car’rie Vineyard and Winery features one of the most inviting of vineyards in the region, complete with a Victorian farmhouse. It’s one of the oldest vineyards in the area and there are over 70 acres to explore.

A Toast to Travelers

Miramonte Winery was founded by entrepreneur Cane Vanderhoof when he was just 32 years old. It became one of the original share economy vineyards, with his friends joining ownership to become an organization of self-described “wine geeks” with a taste for the finest wines.

Oak Mountain Winery is where you’ll find gorgeous views (of Oak Mountain, of course) while you enjoy the famous Bordeaux varieties. Barrel samples are aplenty, and it’s the perfect nightcap to your Temecula tour.

Ring in the New Year in Anaheim!

November 20th, 2015

Anaheim is spilling over with New Year’s Eve parties, so if you’re traveling to Southern California during the holidays, the toughest choice you’ll have to make is what party to attend! The White Wonderland lets you slip down the rabbit hole with live music featuring Paul van Dyk, Benny Benassi and more at this two-day event held at the Anaheim Convention Center. Tickets start at $75, and it’s the only two-day fiesta in town.

Of course, the Disneyland Resort is world-famous for the Ring in the New Year Fireworks Spectacular. An incredible fireworks display amidst Christmas attractions and decorations is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Tickets start at $80 with special discounts for younger children.

Countdown in Style

Try the New Year’s Bash with Kenny Sara and the Sounds of New Orleans at Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen located on Disneyland Drive. The Cajun soul of Louisiana is in town with “musical gumbo” from Kenny Sara. Of course, authentic NOLA cuisine is also on the menu—plus, admission is free!

Maybe New Year’s Eve with ATB is more your speed, with German DJ ATB spinning music all night long. The trance/EDM party takes place at The Observatory on S. Harbor in Santa Ana. This 21+ show has tickets starting at $100 and promises to keep the party going well into the New Year.

How’s the Air Up There?

One of the most popular attractions is Space Slam, a trampoline-filled basketball court where you can mimic the NBA greats and fly like Kobe! There are various sized hoops so no matter your age or height, a slam dunk is, well, a real slam dunk.

The Galactic Gladiator Battlebeam court lets you take on your opponent in a foam jousting tournament, and the big foam pit will soften the blow should you get dismounted. Where will your next leap of faith take you?
