The coastal sage scrub gives way to grassland habitats, making this one of the most unique landscapes for outdoor adventure in the area. Take a trip around the reservoir, and arrive when the park opens at 7 a.m. for some incredible sunrise views.
Parking is just $3 per day with machines available on site. Annual passes are available at the Irvine Regional Park office for frequent or extended stay visitors. The unique habitat coupled with the groomed land makes for a one of a kind experience. With 340 acres to explore featuring riparian habitats, freshwater marsh, and more, you’ll always discover something new. In the 55-acre Upper Peters Canyon Reserve area, waterfowl, sycamores, cottonwoods, and black willows flank the lake before you’re swept away to the canyon.

You’ll find trails and graded roads throughout the park specifically for mountain biking, equestrian riding, and hiking. Take the East Ridge View Trail for a view of the canyon. You can also enjoy views of the reservoir on the Lake View Trail while being ushered alongside rare black willow groves fed by the creek.
Keep an eye out for mule deer, coyotes, raccoons, opossums, bobcats—and even the rare mountain lion. A variety of wildlife flocks to the park for the rich habitat and water source. What will you find in the park?
