The Greek scene in Anaheim is going strong, and no trip to the golden coast is complete without visiting Willy’s Eatery. The Willy’s eggs benedict, with their famous “those potatoes,” gives you a Greek spin on a classic, while the Greek omelet with feta, tomato and basil is the perfect way to start the morning. Try the brizola, and 8 oz. ribeye with briami and house sauce, or a side of kentro fries with kefalotiri butter. For dessert, nothing beats their baklava.

Greek Options

Daphne’s California Greek offers fresh-carved gyros, kebabs, spanakopita and falafel on their mix-and-match menu. Try the Greek salad and rice or garlic-herb salmon with fire-roasted vegetables. Desserts include a classic Greek yogurt parfait with chopped baklava and a house pomegranate drizzle.

Sahara Falafel is where you’ll find a generous falafel plate with homemade pita bread, the mixed kebab platter with lamb and chicken, and the combo shawarma sandwich with beef, chicken and special garlic sauce. Try them all, and choose your favorite!

Delectable Vegetarian Restaurants

March 26th, 2016

Anaheim is one of the best places to travel to if you’re vegetarian or vegan, with plenty of dining options catering to your kind eating ways. Loving Hut is a local chain serving only counter-style vegan cuisine. They are sensitive to food allergies too. Try their Golden Wontons, BBQ Noodle plate, Lucky Mongo with a veg fillet, or the selection of “milk” shakes and coolers.

BHIMAS Pure Vegetarian specializes in Southern Indian style cooking that’s all vegetarian. A selection of curries (many featuring paneer) in an all you can eat buffet style environment makes this restaurant a local lunch favorite.

Get Your Veg On

Rutabegorz Restaurant has three locations in the Anaheim area, all with slightly different veg menus. Check out the mac and cheese, bagels, Peasant Mushroom bowl, Mexican Casserole or the Veggie Surprise. Thuyen Vien is the place to go for those who are craving Vietnamese vegetarian cuisine, with an all-veg menu.

Green Bliss is a café serving only vegetarian fare, like their Vegan Sweet Quesadilla, Baked Oatmeal, Caprese Flatbread, Curried Chickpea Salad, and a seasonal menu that changes as local ingredients go in and out of season. Best Pizza Joints in Town

February 22nd, 2016

California does pizza right (and contrary to popular belief, avocado isn’t on every pie!). Anaheim Pizza is a local staple featuring a variety of crust options, toppings and, of course, sides like salads, pastas and desserts. Pizza Boy offers full pies or slices alongside an eclectic menu of sandwiches and more goodies. The Pizza Press is retro-styled and offers an impressive beer menu, the perfect pairing for any pie.

Head to Pepz Pizza for a casual Italian eatery that’s famous for pizza but offers so much more. Giant Manhattan Pizza does it (you guessed it!) NYC style which means foldable slices, classic toppings and a thin crust. Try Marri’s Pizza and Pasta if you can’t decide which carb you’ll prefer, or Cortina’s Italian Market for cheap and delicious Italian eats.

Slice by Slice

The Pizza Store has everything you can imagine that’s pie related, while Zito’s Pizza is another Manhattan-inspired eatery. Here, you’ll find pies and pasta that are traditional or zany and everything in between.

BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse is an American diner that just happens to have some of the best pies in town. You could easily spend your entire trip pizza hopping, and some do! Ask a local where the best pizza is, and you’re bound to get a different answer each time.

V-Day, Anaheim Style

February 9th, 2016

If you want a real fairytale of a Valentine’s Day, head to Disneyland. It’s a little cheesy (in the right ways) and you’ll be in great company with incredible decorations and special love-inspired dishes. However, if you want something a little more elegant, there are plenty of romantic restaurants nearby. Book early, or have your front desk staff help, to get your top choice.

Try The Cellar on Harbor Boulevard, a French restaurant with dim lighting, aphrodisiacs on the menu, and a night out you’ll never forget. There’s Anaheim White House Restaurant for regal Italian dining. Summit House Restaurant specializes in prime rib in an English manor.

Sweets for the Sweet

There’s a Ghirardelli shop on Disneyland Drive where you can pick up the ultimate Valentine’s Day chocolate bouquet. Marceline’s Confectionery is another option and a favorite of the locals. Call Cinderella Cakes Anaheim, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, or Edible Arrangements for more options.

Finally, don’t forget the flowers! Sarah’s Flowers always has your back, while Collins Flowers offers some of the most stunning arrangements in town. Visser’s Florist can take last minute orders and Avante Gardens Florist features unique and creative arrangements that are jaw dropping. In Anaheim, everything goes—how will you style your V-Day?
