The Glory of Christmas at the Crystal Cathedral in nearby Garden Grove brings you the magic of the holidays in spring. From March 1 – April 30, the celebration focuses on the origins of the holiday with a live nativity. With animals and state of the art special effects, including flying angels, it’s a display you can’t miss. The London Symphony Orchestra is featured, and you’ll want to make reservations early for this annual event.

Originally, the Glory of Christmas showed from 1981 – 2009. However, it’s now returned and it’s grander than ever. What started as a simple but beautiful living nativity has grown into a revered tradition at the first all-glass church in the country. Visiting the cathedral is a favorite activity for Anaheim visitors of all faiths. With seats for nearly 3,000 guests and church services held year-round, it’s a true gem in Garden Grove.

The Show Goes On

To install the incredible production, months of preparation are required. Angel track installation, construction building, and lighting all come together for an awe-inspiring experience. As eight angels fly through the production, some at eighty feet high and twenty-five miles per hour, you’ll feel like Christmas is right around the corner.

Over 300 volunteers work 160+ hours for each production. The cathedral pipe organ complements the symphony’s music with its 287 pipe ranks including 16,000 individual pipes. It’s the largest pipe collection in the world, and just part of what makes the production so special.
