Christ Cathedral

Both a historical landmark and an active place of worship, Christ Cathedral is open for daily tours that let guests discover the incredible beauty of this Anaheim institution. Famous for those of all faiths, Christ Cathedral was once known for Rev. Robert Schuller’s “Hour of Power” evangelized television show. However, the Diocese of Orange bought the church along with all 34 acres a few years ago and turned the cathedral into an open, welcoming destination for residents and tourists alike.

Cathedral Ceiling

Totaling nearly 320,000 square feet, buildings on the campus include the towering Christ Cathedral, an arboretum, the Tower of Hope, Diocese of Orange Pastoral Center, Crean Tower, large and small Galleries, and the Cathedral Cultural Center. There’s a cemetery on site as well as the Cathedral Memorial Gardens. With natural landscaping, sculptures, fountains and more, it’s become a peaceful retreat for many.

A Real Beauty

The campus’ history, beauty, scale and significance has made it a favorite destination for all visitors to Anaheim. Arts and cultural events take place year-round, and exhibit hours (tours) take place Monday – Saturday. Whether visitors are interested in meditation or prayer, education or architecture, Christ Cathedral can’t be missed.

Join a docent-led tour or pick up a guide for a peaceful self-guided tour. It all starts at the Cathedral Cultural Center with the “Becoming Christ Cathedral: Faith and Transformation” exhibit. With 55 volunteer docents representing 30 parishes, tours last about 40 minutes. Private tours can be scheduled for 15+ guests.
