Disneyland Hotel MLK

Martin Luther King Jr. Day offers a variety of options for celebrating in the Anaheim area. The annual Peace and Unity Parade kicks off at the MLK Jr. Avenue and Anaheim Street intersection at 10:30 a.m. on January 14, and the celebration continues until 6 p.m. Each year, over 25,000 attendees come together for a day of live music, entertainment and honoring brotherhood and peace.

Kids enjoy carnival rides, arts and crafts and are guided towards an understanding of justice and peace. Find out more about local groups that pay homage to the teachings of MLK Jr. Dreamland is a dedicated space where youth can uphold the teachings of Dr. King, and some of the best vendors and food carts in the area will be on site.

Living the Dream

The Cake for King celebration at the California African American Museum takes place each year on the major holiday. From 11 a.m. – 4 p.m., enjoy five full hours of commemorating the works and teachings of Dr. King. Kids have a bevy of free, fun activities like face painting, arts and crafts, and of course, indulging in some delectable birthday cake.

Check out documentaries and artifacts, and make this a day of remembering the vision Dr. King had for all people. How will you be celebrating?
